Kids Against Hunger in Haiti

A. Jay visits a school in Aux Parque, La Gonave and hands out packages of food provided by Kids Against Hunger in Tulsa, OK.

We’re so grateful to Kids Against Hunger from Tulsa, OK for providing some of the most nutritious food possible for the children of Haiti.

Marshall and Sherry Horn feeding children in Grand-Goave, Haiti.

Marshall Horn, president of Kids Against Hunger Global, and his wife Sherry have come to Haiti and given out the food themselves. They go to great lengths to not only package hundreds of thousands of meals for Haiti, but also to raise money for shipping it!

The only outside access to this school is on the ocean. Aux Parque is a tiny village on the shore of LaGonave, surrounded on all other sides by huge mountains. This was Pastor Lex's second visit to this school.

It’s such a joy to give food to children whom you know don’t eat 3 meals a day. This is one of Pastor Lex’s favorite things to do. He remembers what it feels like to go to school without eating. We’re so grateful that God has provided food for so many children through people like Marshall and Sherry.

Over the past several years, we have seen a marked change in many of the children that have been recipients of this food on a regular basis. One little guy I remember so well, with his red hair, bloated belly and dry skin. He’s grown about six inches in two years, has black hair and that belly is much more normal looking. It’s really incredible to see the difference good nutrition can make on a child.

We are also very thankful for all of you, our friends and partners, who enable us to be in Haiti, feeding children today. Thank you!
